What We Do
Academic Technologies provides comprehensive support and services to enhance teaching, learning, and research at Oregon State University.
We manage and maintain the university's learning platforms and provide reliable multimedia support. We offer services such as lecture capture, media distribution, and classroom technology management, equipping educators with tools for dynamic instruction. Through training, consultation, and tailored guidance, we empower faculty and students to effectively integrate technology into their academic endeavors.

Providing instructional and presentation technology for classrooms, labs, and seminar and conference spaces.
Real-time support technicians are available via phones in the classroom that connect you with rapid remote and on-site technology support.

Providing technical, operational and user support for Learn@OregonState, OSU’s dynamic learning ecosystem that allows the OSU community to manage a broad array of teaching and learning resources in one succinct space.
Learning Platform Services administers Canvas, the learning management system at Oregon State University, and its associated products, including Kaltura, GradeScope, TurnItIn, and many other integrated tools. Learn@OregonState is your destination for information on how to access and use the learning tools at Oregon State.
Offering hands-on multimedia support from experienced staff, ensuring you have access to high-quality media equipment and digital creation spaces. Our services include:
- Equipment Checkout: Access a wide range of consumer and prosumer media capture equipment with expert consultation.
- Poster Printing: Print large format posters for various academic and departmental needs, with helpful setup tips and tutorials.
- Media Workshops: Attend free, in-person workshops on diverse topics like video production and graphic design, hosted by our professional staff.

Offering many options for your production needs, both in and out of the classroom. These include (video and/or audio) recording, live streaming, videoconferencing, broadcast connections to networks worldwide, and studio productions. Media Services produces media and instructional materials for media outlets, web applications, or recorded formats. Video Examples

Higher Education Engagement
Educational Ecosystem Advisory Committee
The Advisory Committee is tasked with exploring and testing technology solutions to advance learning and student success outcomes as defined by the OSU Strategic Plan and prioritized by OSU IT Governance bodies.
EPSON Higher Education Advisory Council
Membership in the advisory council that will comprise of a small group of thought leaders and technology decision makers from prominent higher education institutions across North America and is intended to provide a venue for the exchange of ideas and insights on the future of ProAV in facilitating instruction, learning, and collaboration.
Oregon Wireless Instructional Network
A consortium formed in 1995 with six member institutions, including Oregon State University, that use the lease income from EBS licensing for instruction media programs on their respective campuses.
OSU Commencement Planning Committee
The Commencement Planning Committee members serve in an advisory capacity to the Provost and Executive Vice President and are responsible for planning and implementing OSU’s university-wide Commencement ceremony (held in Corvallis) and advising on the coordination of unit Commencement ceremonies, including those held at OSU-Cascades and at the department, school, and college levels.
Northwest Managers of Educational Technology
Northwest Managers of Educational Technology (NW/MET) is a consortium of Educational Technology professionals from colleges and universities in the American Pacific Northwest and Intermountain regions and Western Canada. Our objectives are to develop an identity among professionals managing media services, faculty and instructional development, media production, and other educational technology services in higher education institutions in the Northwest, and to improve the process of managing faculty and instructional support programs.
Learning Innovation Center
Oregon State University's Learning Innovation Center is home to the Honors College, University Information and Technology, and Academic Affairs which co-locates the Center for Teaching and Learning and Academic Technologies, including Learning Platform Services, Classroom Technology Services, Media Services, and Technical Services, creating a dynamic teaching and learning support center for OSU faculty and students.
